Hi Maurice,

The "badge definition" as far as I understand it is set in "Manage Badges". You would therefore have to have badges already set up in the site which had the necessary criteria to be awarded in relation to the course. The badges are not set from within the course but are external to it, its a one-way street - but they are associated with users as they have they badges. So in answer to your question Id say you havent missed anything.

Hi Maurice,

I can try to answer some of your questions.

Course Backup/Restore requires users if you want to back up badges because they are needed for restoring awarded badges. When a backup is performed we cannot predict if a user who perform backup/restore will want to restore badge criteria completion, that's why we backup everything and make such dependencies.

I haven't worked with course templates, so I can definitely say that badges are not included there.
