Hi Jaime,
I have had issues with users not using the close button in the scorm and actually exiting the scorm with the browser close button which may cause a situation like you describe in your first post.

What I did was add a final slide(timed) after the quiz with an animation letting the user know the window would close itself. This eliminated the problem for us.
