Highlighting Totara 2.7.x and 2.9.x new features?

Dear all, happy new year!

We are running 2.5.30, and I just started the preliminary evaluation process for Totara 2.7.x and 2.9.x. Basically we want to make sure that the upgrade will really bring excellent business values for our use cases and stakeholders. So here are my questions:

1. Can someone please summarize (in a nutshell) all the key new features that are only available in 2.7.x and 2.9.x?

2. For those of you who already upgraded to 2.7.x and 2.9.x, which new features you found most helpful (for your use cases)?

You should be able to select any version and see key elements and features of each. This link: http://help.totaralearning.com/display/TL29/Whats+new+in+2.9 provides quite specific information on 2.9

By the way, I really love the "what's new" section in 2.9.

I wonder why for 2.6 ~ 2.8 there is no such "what's new" section in the documentation? Is it possible to add them back in? Just my $0.02...
