Performance Appraisal: Aggregate rating questions

Hi,

Just wanted to confirm something about aggregating rating questions.

If a performance appraisal has rating questions using a custom scale eg Competent (3), Competent with Supervision (2) and Not Yet Competent (1), is there are way to display the aggregated score as the corresponding term rather than a number.

For example if a person has:

1 x Competent = score of 3

1 x Competent with supervision = score of 2

1 x Not yet competent = score of 1

Currently the aggregate rating questions will give a numeric score of 2.0, however seeing as all the scales are text, is there anyway the performance appraisal can return the text value instead of the numeric value. In the example above it would be Competent with supervision instead of 2.0

Thanks

Georgina

Hi Georgina,

Aggregation is an arithmetic operation, so you get a numerical result; there may not be a corresponding term with the aggregated value.

Would including some explanatory text under the numeric score work? You could use the 'Fixed text' option under the 'Non-question element'.

cheers,

George.
