Hi Daniel

There is a plugin available that will  let you import (and sync) position and organisation assignments from an external database.

We can make this available to you - it has been updated recently so will get you the up to date version.

Information about this plugin was discussed below. I will also add to the download database in the Partners area so it is easier to find.

Yes sure, I'll attach them to this forum post so others can use them too.

There is a README.txt file included that gives a bit of detail on how it works.
Note that it can only be used to sync to existing positions and
organisations, the
hierarchies themselves must already exist.

The plugin is accessed through the interface via Courses > Enrollments > External Database (Position Assignments).

Edit: I've updated this post with the correct version of the file
Edit 2: I've updated the file again, with a new version that fixes a couple of bugs (19/04/11)
Edit 3: And another version, which fixes some MSSQL specific issues (20/04/11)

Hi Chad

The database is hidden in the Partners Area course - I have selected Show but it keeps on reverting back to Hide. I am not sure why this happening - has anyone had this happen to them.

In the end I overrid the permission for this resource to enable viewing of hidden activities as I couldn't Show it.
