Can anyone point me in the direction of the messages that are sent out when the email notification settings 'email me about alerts' and 'email me about tasks' are checked? I've been hunting in the language files but can't see anything. sad

Hi Ciaran

The alerts and tasks are the contents of the alerts and tasks dashlets on a user's dashboard.

It doesn't look at though there is a description of what the contents of alerts and tasks  are. My understanding is a task is something that the user needs to do to proceed to the next step for example a manager will get a task message to approve a learning plan, approve a face to face course.

An alert is a more general message eg a message to confirm your course booking, a message from another user.

I think the aim of the dashboard is to provide notifications for site wide events that effect a user rather than course related messages.

Thanks Danielle. So I'd expect an email when a learning plan is due today, in a few days or overdue?

Regards,
Ciaran

Hi,

I'm afraid it won't do that yet, although it is a feature we'd like to add at some point.

Not for a while I'm afraid, we're focusing on getting Totara working on moodle 2.0 at the moment.
