Required Learning vs Record of Learning

Not sure if this is dumb question or not...

What makes a program appears under Record of Learning but not Required Learning?

Apparently the user has even completed the course, but before or after complete the course for that program, the required learning won't show up under the My Learning tab. User did receive email notification that they're required to complete that course.

We have a block that guide user to the Required Learning and when we click that, it shows nothing. The same program did show up on Record of Learning.

Wondering anyone have idea on the logic behind?

Thanks!

If the user has already completed the course then the program will be complete, and therefore no longer required?

Completed programs will show in the Record Of Learning : Programs tab, Required Learning is for programs that the user must do, but has not completed yet.

There are some caveats to what shows up in record of learning. So long as the user remains enrolled in the course or assigned to a program, completed courses and programs will continue to display in a user's record of learning. If the user is removed from a program or unenrolled from a course, those no longer appear in the record of learning. I have often questioned this behavior, and think that it should be configurable as to whether or not users should see programs/courses for which they are no longer assigned/enrolled. Wondering what others have to say about that in regards to the user's Record of Learning.
