Report Builder - export to excel not working properly

Hi,

We have created following report via the report builder :

Where most of the fields are standard Face to face variables.

Operational Unit is a user profile field

4D2Y is a course profile field.

If we try to export this report to excel, we get a malformed excel file (see attachment). Does this something have to do by adding the extra profile fieldds (user & course) to the report?

This file doesn't open in the right format in Excel for me either .

I added a field to the face to face session and created a report with this value in it using the report builder and the export to Excel worked.

What version of Excel are you using - I am using Excel 2007 and using the demo site. Can you check that the report https://demo.totaralms.com/local/reportbuilder/report.php?id=25 works for you.

Is there anything strange in the data you can think of.

The login and password for demo.totaralms.com is demoadmin

I have recreated the report https://demo.totaralms.com/local/reportbuilder/report.php?id=27 as the site is refreshed every 48 hours so hopefully you manage to try sometime today.

Hi Wouter,

I've been trying to reproduce this, using custom user and course fields with text and numeric data in them as in your example, but have been unable to reproduce the problem.

Which version of Totara and Excel are you using - and is there anything in that 4D2Y table in the database that is strange?
