Hi,

We've had a recent issue where users were still receiving course evaluation messages, even though there was no feedback activity configured.

We believe feedback activity was once configured but then removed for a course, and we were unable to access the connected evaluation message settings to configure or turn off. Adding a temporary feedback activity briefly allowed us the required access to the messages.

This is possibly a small bug or expected behaviour?

Hi Gary,

Can you confirm you're talking about the "Reminders" course setting when you say evaluation messages?

I've checked the code and there is a section that looks to see if the activity exists and skips sending if the activity is missing. It was added in 1.0.17 so if you're on an older version than that you wouldn't have the fix. What version are you running (it's shown on the admin notifications page)?

The other option is that the feedback is still there, but hidden or otherwise disabled, are you sure that's not the case?

Many thanks for the reply.

We are running Totara Version 1.1.13 (Build: 20120314.0).

Yes I'm referring to the Reminders course setting from the course admin menu.
When trying to access this setting, we receive the message "Course reminders are unavailable as there are no Feedback activities in this course".

The workaround we used was to temporarily add a feedback activity, remove the reminders, then remove the feedback activity.
