According to all documentation and pop-up help, there isn't much in the way of variable substitution for Program Messages:

%programfullname%   or   %setlabel%

What about the option to Notify Managers? Surely they would need to receive something like %username% ... I could guess a few useful fieldnames to try.

I admit I have not even tested this yet - thought I might get a quicker answer here.
