It means any or all  of those selected.

Control-click to select more than one.

Hi Arjun,

I can't seem to recreate this - can you supply me with further details about "We are forced to select a dependency (prerequisite) even though we don't want to."

thanks,

George.

Hi Arjun

I see what you mean - once you have selected the course for the completion dependency the course is not able to be unselected. You can use the Ctrl click to unselect but it still shows as selected when you go back into the course.

This is a bug http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-27114 that appears unresolved.

I found that I could get the course unselected by going into the prerequisite  course and changing the course settings for student progress to Disabled not shown in activity settings- This clears this from the selection list of the dependent course and you can then enable the completion tracking on the prereq course and it is no longer selected in the dependent course. I tried on v2.2.8 of Totara.

Hi Arjun

Can you untick the box student must view the activity to complete this - this isn't required as the second condition  of receiving a grade wouldn't be possible without viewing the activity.

The completion conditions may be treating this as an

  • Student must view this activity to complete it OR
  • Student must receive a grade to complete this activity

If this is the case then the activity would be marked as complete if the person viewed.

It is also possible to set a passing grade for the activity of 75 http://help.totaralms.com/setting_a_passing_grade.htm

Hi,

There was a patch included in today's (6th Dec 2012) release of Totara 2.2.11 that fixes the ability to remove course prerequisites in completion settings.  So a quick upgrade and completion dependencies should hopefully no longer be a problem, though let us know if there is anything else wrong with them.

Cheers
David
