I'm in a situation where an organisation needs to transfer all their existing Users and Hierarchy into Totara, and then a few months after, overhaul the hierarchy with the existing users. The options are to either sync that changes using CSV or do it manually, the former being preferred obviously, with the larger userbase and all.
The main question here is; will this be quite straightforward to do? My main concern is that an overhaul of the hierarchy might break users which are in the middle of a course which might be reassigned due to the restructuring, or that existing data might generally break in unexpected ways. I personally see it as quite a risk to change a hierarchy in an automated fashion on a system currently in use, but I might be wrong.
Any insight or previous experiences with any experiencing anything similar highly appreciated.
