Open Badges viewed externally to LMS don't show recipient details

Hi,

We have set up some Open Badges in our Totara Demo site and added these to the Mozilla backpack. We noticed though that on the shared badge collection page or any associated criteria, evidence pages is doesn't verify the receipient for any of the badges. See exmaples below.

Shared Mozilla backpack collection page:

If users want to display these badges outside of the LMS how do they verify that they were the recipient of the badge? It only seems to verify the issuer...

Is this a limitation on the current OBI framework metadata? Or a field that is missing when LMS badges are pushed to the Mozilla backpack?

I know within the LMS badges are attached to user profiles and admins can see list of recipients who have been awarded badges.

Hi Ira,

Which Totara version you are using? The way badges are displayed was improved in 2.4.10. There were some security fixes as well, so you might want to consider upgrading.

The way Mozilla displays badges in their backpack is not something we can fix. There is really no information about recipient in Mozilla backpack expect for recipient email address (that is not shown to others).

Hi,

Was originally testing on Totara site v2.4.5, now that it has been updated to v2.4.10 I can see the recipient name and email address.
