Locking down editing of a F2F activity but still allow adding sessions

We want to set up a course role whereby the user can only add sessions to a predetermined f2f activity.  We seem to have it mostly locked down but the person can still see the editing options for the activity.  As this activity is to hold all the sessions for a particular course (e.g. Fire Safety lectures for 16,000 staff) then if a user with this role inadvertently deletes it, the outcome could be quite catastrophic!.

Can this be locked down but still add new sessions to the activity?  Tried but can’t seem to do so.

Hi Rob,

The editing options for the activity as a whole are controlled mostly by the moodle/course:manageactivities capability, whereas the ability to add sessions is controlled by mod/facetoface:editsessions

Does that help?

Hi Ciaran

Just got back around to look at this.  A emphatic yes, it does help, now resolved.

Many thanks
