User tours experimental

Are there plans to move User Tours out of Experimental features in Evergreen to standard functionality for v10?

Hi Ian,

All the built-in tours still need to be reviewed, I couldn't guarantee that would happen in time for v10.

Thanks. Is it just because of the built-in tours that it is classed as Experimental? Or is there further review needed for the functionality to work in Totara and create new tours?

My understanding is there is further review needed to ensure it works everywhere in Totara.

As it's being promoted as a headline feature of Totara Learn 10, is there any further clarification on whether it is a full feature or experimental?

It feels a little uncomfortable promoting this to our clients for use on their production site when it's accessed via the Experimental menu.

Are there any specific known areas to avoid when using User Tours?

Hi Richard

User Tours are an experimental feature https://help.totaralearning.com/display/TL10/User+Tour which come with the advice to test before running on production site.

The main problems seem to be around themes with around 10 fixes applied in Totara. Any issues with user tours can be reported and we will file a bug to fix them.

Hi Ian,

User tours are still under Experimental, its not been prioritised for further development at present, I've created an Improvement request,

TL-19567 QA Experimental User Tours and integrate into the main admin menu.

I've spoken to our Totara Learn Product Manager, we're looking at lining it up for t13.
