Hi Amir,

Very interesting discussion. One idea that we've had that we'd like to include at some point (and possibly a subset of what you are proposing) is streamlining the creation of commonly used elements.

For example, a simple face-to-face form that just asks for a name, then in the backend creates a course, adds a single face-to-face activity and switches to a custom 'face-to-face' course format. That would be useful for people who just want a face-to-face activity, without the overhead of creating a course.

Yes it does sounds powerful, but I'm curious as to how you might implement it, it does sound like it could be quite hard to do through the interface without coding. You mention report builder as an example but while it does give the admin some control it relies quite heavily on the coded report sources still.

Hi Amir

Thanks for describing this - it sounds as though it could save time and make processes easier to do.

Do you see any linking of forms for example after the creation of the course form there might be a form to setup users in the course in particular roles or groups.

Do you see the interface being like the report manager with tabs for the different form elements or more like a wizard with a step 1 form that is completed and then the step 2 form comes up based on the actions of the step 1 form.

Hi Amir

I was looking at Moodle 2 and there is already something like this that exists.

After I created a course there is a form that comes up that allows you to enrol users in roles and different enrolment methods

Would it be possible to extend this code to create other forms.

enrol form
