Search forums without returning Totara Release Notes

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a very basic question, but I'm wanting to find a way to exclude Totara Release Notes from forum searches - although there's clearly a great deal of value in these, sometimes I'm looking for guidance or problem resolution only, and the Notes take a lot of time to scroll through :)

I've tried using Advanced search, adding Release Notes (with and without quotes) These words should NOT be included field, and I've also tried using the main search box with the convention below, but it seems as if the site can't interpret any of these approaches.

"seminar custom fields" -"Totara Learn Release Notes"

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Many thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian

I tried adding Release Notes without quotes into the These words should NOT be included and searched and the Release Notes forum postings were not included.

Don't use the quotes as these are treated as a character to search for.

I got best results without the Release Notes included  with all of these three words appearing anywhere in the post (including subject)

We are working on a full text search for v12 see https://help.totaralearning.com/display/DEV/Full+text+search for details..
