Hi
When a person is unassigned from a certification, we thought that the record would disappear from the record of learning once the certification expired. However the record is still showing with an expiry on it. See below

Hi Lucy
The Record of Learning acts as a permanent record of a user's learning, There is an option under Record of Learning to display Active learning - this displays the uiser's current certification records. This looks as though it might be current as it shows as overdue.
You can check and edit the completion status of programs/certification with the program completion editor

Hi Craig,
I am also seeing this problem with a recent upgrade to V11.
Can you help with how you find the option to only display active learning? I have had the enable completion editor settings on and off and that doesn't appear to sort the issue. I have looked at the imbedded report but cant see any settings in that, hopefully I am just missing something.
I can understand the record of learning screen showing all course completions but wouldn't have thought this would apply to certifications, it seems a strange way for the system to work and is confusing for user.
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks,
Carl
Hi Carl,
Please see highlighted text:
This is a setting the user selects.
The Record of Learning is just that - an accurate record of all the learning a user has undertaken or been assigned/enrolled to.
We are considering a redesign of this functionality, but one of our main concerns is keeping some continuity for many of our users who use the functionality as it is.
We can totally understand users may just want to see ongoing and completed learning rather than any records which they may consider dormant or spurious.
The conclusion that our development team has reached is that the architecture for storing and managing progress within courses, programs, and certifications needs to be addressed before we can properly resolve this issue. We also have plans to redesign / refactor the Record of Learning to address a whole range of critical issues with the Record of Learning including this one. It's still too early to indicate when exactly this will land, however we are looking into how to make this happen for version 13.
regards,
George.
Hi George,
Thank you for taking the time to look at this and reply.
Is there anyway then that the Certifications tab can be hidden from the Record of Learning screen so it would only show Courses Programs and Other Evidence?
I appreciate that users would need to see all learning they have ever completed but we use Certifications to record compliance but our users are used to looking at this to find out what learning they are currently required to completed.
We have added custom reports to do this be historically users are used to this screen and will continue to be confused so hiding it if possible may be our best solution.
Thanks,
Carl
Hi Carl,
You can't hide the tab without custom work, but you could just hide all the columns in the embeded RoL Certifications report, so there will be no data visible when the user selects the tab.
cheers,
George.
