Building reports with predefined filter selections

Hi,

We would like to build a report where the report builder can make visible data that meets a specific filter selection. And, which the viewer can't change. For example we want to report on upcoming events that are of the Overall Status= Upcoming, without the viewer being able to see or select other statuses, such as cancelled. Is this possible (I haven't found it if it is).

Thanks,

Lyn

Hi Lyn,

There is not a way to set a report to have a certain filter set when the report is first run. The closest you would get would be by setting up a saved search that uses the filter, and then providing the link to that report, with the saved search enabled. The URL would look something like this: https://mytotarasite.com/totara/reportbuilder/report.php?id=234&sid=63 You could setup a main menu item that launches that link or add a Report Table block that could launch the report with the saved query in place.

If the user does access the full report though, they will still have access to change the filters.

Thanks,

Wes

Hi Wes,

Thank you! This may solve the problem until pre-set filters can become a feature of Reports :-)

Thanks,
