“Completed/Passed” versus “Completed/Failed”

Does Totara allow for completed distinctions? Can you differentiate between “Completed/Passed” versus “Completed/Failed”?  It looks to me that with the course completion settings available, a user who completes all required activities but doesn’t achieve a passing score just hangs out as “progressing” indefinitely.  Is there another way to handle unsuccessful completions?

If there isn’t a way, I’d love to hear if this has been submitted as a feature request.

Hi Ellen

Some activities do have a passing grade setting - when an activity is completed with a pass mark this is shown as a tick in the grader report and other areas. When the activity is completed with a fail grade then this is shown as a X

There is a feature request discussion looking at the activity completion pass grade

This shouldn't  result in the completion processing hanging - can you or your partner detail what activity and what the activity completion settings are by creating  a ticket on  helpdesk.totaralms.com

Thank you for the reply.  To clarify, I’m not referring to activity completion.  I’m referring to course completion.  If we set a required course grade, if the student doesn’t achieve that grade, it seems they remain as progressing in the course.

Thanks for the clarification - courses remain incomplete until all of the completion criteria are met for the course.

The completion without passing doesn't complete the course if a course total mark is not reached and this is part of the course completion criteria.

It is possible to unenrol a learner from the course so they don't show in the course grader report - their course completion status will still show in their record of learning.
