I have a feeling that this isnt too difficult but I cannot seem to work it out.
Just want to make the quiz be graded by percentage rather than set marks
If I have a 6 question quiz, set the passing mark to 80% rather than 5/6.
Its just a preference we have.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It is possible to change the grade display in the Grader report by
Selecting Course admin > Gradebook setup > Course Grade settings > Grade display > percentage
The marks can be worth 1 and the passing mark is still 5 - it is just the display in percentage.
Note that the grade will show in Red if the pass mark has not achieved the grade to pass.
is this where you were wanting to display the percentage?

I did play around in that are and happy that it displays on that page,
I was after a way to change the grade to pass to % when setting up the quiz, adding questions and so the user can see their attempts in % as well.
Setting it up where you have indicated doesn't seem to change that part.

Ok Thanks for looking into it... I am certain it could be done in Moodle back in the day, mauybe I am mistaken

Totara quizzes are based on Moodle quizzes so should have the very similar settings.
If you click on the review screen above as a user you should see the following screen that includes the percentage - is this what you were thinking of?
