We have an issue whereby former managers are still receiving email notifications each and every time a comment is added to a competency. Is there a simple way of disabling this feature for employees they no longer manager while retaining the need for them to see comments for existing members of staff?

Competency Comment Notifications
It is possible to turn off individual notifiications for each user by selecting the user and select Preferences > Notification preferences Search for comment posted on competency and disable.
It is also possible to set the default message outputs for all users under Site admin >plugins > message outputs > default message outputs
