Best way to record previous training certificates

Hello,

One of our  client wants their learners to be able to upload previous certificates of learning done outside of Totara.

Ideally they want the learner to upload the certificate and be able to log the date when it was completed.

Also for the manager to be able to view the learning record in reports.

I've thought about creating a "fake" course page with the name of the certificate and a learning activity that requires the learner to upload their certificate and confirm they have completed the course. Is this the right approach or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Paul

Hey Paul,

I think probably the simplest way to achieve this would be using an Assignment activity in a course. You can set the completion of the course based on a Learner uploading a file (you can specify which types of file) and then receiving a passing grade.

You could just have one completion condition if you like, just the file upload,  the grading requires a manual intervention by a trainer or similar ie someone looks at whats been uploaded.

Hope this is useful, let us know what you think.

cheers,

George.

Hi Paul,

Have you looked at evidence?
