I am using HR Import to upload users to Totara and assign them to a Dynamic Audience via the use of a Department tag. All of this is working perfectly. What I am noticing is that it's taking about 30 minutes for a new user to be added to the specified Dynamic Audience. Does this timing sound correct to you? Is there a way to shorten this timeframe?

Tasks such as audience processing are run as scheduled tasks to make sure that tasks that are required to be processed quickly and long running tasks are efficiently processed.
If you go to Site administration > Server > Scheduled tasks you can see the tasks and when theses are run by default.
The synchronise audience members task is set to run on the hour by default. You can increase the frequency if this is a concern to you. Adjusting this will have an effect on other areas so they need to be adjusted carefully. Some processes that aren't required to be processed immediately and take a long time such as HR Import are better to be processed when the system is not busy.
