Hi Matt

There was an issue with the performance of the update competencies task that was fixed a couple of years ago.

Can you check under the Scheduled tasks menu that this task is running Ok.

If this looks OK are you or your partner able to create a support ticket with information on the Totara version  and recreation steps. 

Do you use a complex competency framework with lots of levels and linked to courses ?
