This week we’re thrilled to share the new curation and collaboration tools available to you in the Community. We’ve turned on a whole range of Totara Engage features to enhance your Community experience. So what’s new?
Join a workspace
Along with the Community forums, workspaces are our newest place to collaborate, share ideas and ask questions about a particular topic. In a workspace, you can start a post or comment on others’ posts, review a library of related resources (and add some of your own) and see a list of other members. You can also @tag other users to draw them into the conversation, such as your colleagues and Totara team members.
We’ve got six workspaces to get you started, focused on the following topics:
- Multitenancy
- Reporting
- Personalisation
- Supporting remote working
- Workspaces
- Talent Experience trends, reports and analysis
As a Community user, you can’t set up your own workspaces, but do send your additional workspace suggestions to us at community@totaralearning.com.
And if you’re interested in setting up workspaces on your own Totara site, why not also check out our Academy course on Workspaces in Totara Engage, then share your thoughts in the Workspaces workspace!Create, curate and share resources
When you next login to the Community, you might notice that the menu items are a little different. Under the new Collaborate option, you’ll see Your library. This is your personal Community library, visible just to you! Here you can add resources (such as links or files), and view resources that have been shared with you by other Community users. Here you’ll also find any resources you’ve chosen to bookmark around the site. So if you see something you like the look of in the resources catalogue, bookmark it for later and it’ll automatically appear in Your library.
You can do the same with playlists; creating, sharing and saving playlists of resources. Create them just for yourself, to share with your team, or make them public so other Community members can benefit from them. It’s up to you.
And please show us what you like by rating, liking and commenting on the Totara Engage resources you find across the site. You can @tag people in your comments here too to draw their attention to useful playlists and resources you find.
If you’re thinking about using playlists and resources on your own Totara site, we’d also recommend our Academy course on Playlists and resources in Totara Engage.New catalogue views
If you’re looking for our Marketing resources, head to the new Resources catalogue for a searchable, filterable view of the resources available to you - from eBooks and infographics to product sheets and whitepapers.
And you’ll find all of our Webinars on demand and Upcoming webinars in filterable catalogues too.
If you’re interested in using the catalogue to present your formal and informal learning content, why not also take our Catalogue course in the Academy?Let us know what you think
We know that change can be hard, but we hope you’ll find this change a positive one. And don’t worry, all of your familiar Community features such as Academy courses, Community forums and sector spaces, and My dashboard are still in place.
We can’t wait to hear what you think of the new features. So post in a workspace or forum, comment on a resource, or even email us at community@totaralearning.com with your feedback. We’ll see you in the workspaces soon…
Have a great week!
