Tenant themes and a modified URL

Hi,

In the video about applying tenant themes in Totara it’s mentioned that:

“When this user goes to login to the site, they see the tenant login page. Note that if you’d like users to login via the tenant login page, you will need to provide them with a modified URL which always follows this format, using the tenant identifier.

You can always find this information on the Manage tenants page too.”

I didn’t find in Manage tenants page where to do that. :(

I also configured a tenant theme (in Appearance/Ventura/Tenant Branding is mentioned that it’s Custom for that particular tenant) but when I login as a tenant user the theme is not applied.

Can anyone help me please with those 2 issues?

The URL for a tenant theme for the login is yoursitename/login/index.php?tenanttheme=tenantidnumber

The tenantidnumber is the Tenant identifier used for each tenant

You can select the Enable pre-login tenant themes under Tenants > Settings

If enabled then "?tenanttheme=tenantidentifier" can be added to any URL to specify tenant theming should be applied before user logs in. Current tenant theme is be also retained after tenant user logs out.

You are right about this not being in the manage tenants documentation so will get this added.

The user shouldn't require a tenant theme to be applied to them - when a user logins as a Tenant member the tenant brand will be applied to the user. Can you check if the user a participant of more than one tenant ?

Thanks for your reply.

I checked and the Enable pre-login was selected. I added the tenant identifier to our URL site but the custom theme didn't appear at the logon page. The same when I login as a tenant participant, though the theme was configured.

Please see the attached print screens maybe they can give you a clue about what is happening.

I forgot to tell you that it's a demo instance for Totara 14 which we are using in the sale process.

Hi Ema

Can you try this with a user who is a tenant member rather than a tenant participant . Participants can be associated with more than one tenant so difficult to associate them with a tenant theme.

The login screen with the tenant identifier in the URL should display the tenant theme. Can you try logging in on a different browser or refreshing the browser cache as some settings may be stored.

Can you login directly as the user rather than using the login as to confirm that the same happens?
