Own Custom Certificate

I would like to create my own custom certificate type in addition to the certificate types that default on the system.  I have found the information on this in the  help documentation (https://help.totaralearning.com/display/TH14/Certificates) but I don't really understand the instructions.  Can someone explain how I can create a custom certificate step by step?  At the moment I don't know where to find the "/type/letter_landscape folder" that is mentioned or how to add a string to the language pack. I know where to access the language pack but not how to add strings to it.  Any help would be appreciated.

I'm working in v13 currently.

Hi Jill, we are using Version 12 so not certain if it is the same in 13.

We found the simplest way to do this was to upload our layout template as an image (so the standard text, border, logo and signature).   We then select the image as the Border Image for the certificate.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sue,

Thank you for the response.  I do the same for most of my courses but we are hosting a SCORM package on our site for a security qualification and they have sent a certificate format which must be used to be recognised in the industry.  The template really only allows me to put in the person's name, otherwise we are not allowed to change anything else on it.

We are currently having to do the certificates manually which is a real pain. In my ideal world, I would like to be able to upload the image and then set the system to insert the persons name in right place in the image for this course AND also have the standard certificate set up for other courses. I may be reaching for the impossible!
