New Creating a new course type

Hi there,

We're wondering how one amends the Course Types that are on the system.  We're on version 12 and our system has been set up with 3 course types, E-Learning, Seminar and Blended.  But we're considering whether we can add another option to this list as well, but can't seem to find where to configure it?

Look forward to hearing from you.  I've attached a snippet of what I've found in the Help Files re configuring catalogues.....

Kind regards,

Fiona

Hi Fiona

Rather than relying on creating course types - can you create tags or custom course fields that can be used the same way for catalogue searches and are easier to input and manage.

Thanks Craig - you're always great at responding promptly!

This is a good idea, but can you advise if these respond the same way if I was to create a report?  This is the main reason I'm keen to add the additional course type.  Currently I can pull a report based on course types - so I can see how many of each type of course we currently have,; but can I do a similar thing with  tags?  Can I pull a report on tags?

I'll look more into custom course fields too, admit I currently don't know much about these.

Cheers,

Fiona

Hi Fiona

If you are using the grid course catalogue you can select the tag or custom field filter filter for the report and the number of records for the filters applied shows.

I couldn't find a way to count within the course report by tag - however if you go to the manage tags menu then a count of how many times each tag appears is provided and clicking on the tag link takes you to all the resources with the tag.
