Unable to edit PDF annotations in Totara v16

Hi Totara Learn community,

At BPP we are trying to upgrade our Totara version. We've encountered an issue with the Totara v16.5 (Build: 20220928.00).

When grading an Assignment submission, we are using the Annotate PDF (assignfeedback_editpdf) plugin to add comments to a submitted PDF file. We can add and delete comments OK. We can use the 'Add to quicklist' feature to add a comment and replace another. All comments are saved and redisplayed after a reload, correctly.

However, we are unable to edit comments. This is by placing the mouse cursor inside the TextArea field and typing something. This is a potential blocking for our upgrade as its a feature used a lot by course markers.

We've demonstrated this issue occurs when we install a fresh version of Totara v16.5, with a blank database and no additional plugins. It occurs on all browsers we have tested, including Firefox, Chrome, IE Edge, Safari. The issue DOES NOT occur on our production environment which is running Totara v12.3. So we are thinking this could be 'bug' in Totara.

Has anyone else encountered this issue before and do you have any advice on what we can do to mitigate it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Phil

I tried this out following your instructions and was able to replicate this.

I was able to edit a comment by selecting the search comments icon (see screenshot) and selecting a comment and this allowed the comment to be edited rather than typing in the comment box directly
