I've been asked to setup a Seminar Maximum Capacity Notification. I don't think this exists and the only way round it is to enable wait listing for each event and set a notification on that.
Unless the notification 'Registration Closed' works. But that reads as an automatic close at a pre-set date/time. Not something that occurs when the event is full.
Can anyone advise on this please?

That's correct the maximum capacity reached seminar notification doesn't exist..
Enabling the waitilist and adding a notification for waitlist signup created would notify the subject, manager or third party when a signup has been created that exceeds the maximum capacity for the seminar.
Can you describe what the problem is with using the waitlist signup created ?
