Hi everyone!

I'm wondering if anyone has used Totara as a record for both internal and external courses? I know there is the 'evidence of learning' area that users can update, but I'm curious to hear how other people may have navigated using the platform as a one stop shop for tracking and reporting purposes.

On a similar note, has anyone used the platforms training catalogue to include external trainings and promote enrolment this way?

Hi Lucie

We have tried to set up something similar: we use evidence bank where we have historical completion records from before we got Totara and there is also an evidence type for user-created items.

What makes reporting difficult is that for the different evidence types, the evidence report source pulls each custom field as a separate column (eg if we have completion date for historical evidence type and for manually created evidence type, these two dates will be in two different columns).

For external training, we tried setting that up as courses with seminar activities as we wanted to use approvals, but this approach is far from ideal.
