Link Glossary entry

Hi, we have recently started using Totara and we would like to create a global glossary. I have a question: Is it possible to link the entries in a glossary to each other? The option of assigning keywords does not do this, as I first thought. Or am I missing something?

I found this post, but it doesn't offer a workable solution either.

Thank you,

Markus

Ok, you can manually link the links of the individual entries in other entries. That is at least a workaround. But it's not really convenient.

Hi Markus

There is a Glossary setting under Entries > Automatically link glossary entries that has the following effect

If site-wide glossary auto-linking has been enabled by an administrator and this setting is enabled, the Add a new entry form includes the option to automatically link the entry wherever the concept words and phrases appear throughout the rest of the course.

This doesn't automatically link entries together but may help depending on your requirements.

Another option is to export entries and import into an another glossary.

Hi Craig,

Yes, I had already seen this function. As far as I understand, however, it can only be used to automatically link terms in the course. That's not bad, but what I'm looking for is a link between the terms. In many encyclopaedias, one term refers to other terms. This can be solved manually by inserting the links. However, it would be useful to have a function that automatically specifies cross-references.

Thanks, Markus

Hi Markus

Totara 19 has created an Open AI plugin which will allow integrations with AI tools to be developed .

The recommended course tags is an example of this which in theory something similar could be developed for use in the glossary activity to generate glossary entries .
