Re: Is there anyway an administrator can view appraisal content?

Hi Maurice,

The confidentiality aspect of this feature is an intrinsic part of its design, as you mention the only way around it, for admin, is to login as the appropriate user.

regards,

George.

Hi Maurice.

The technical problem is that when a user views an appraisal, they need to do it in the context of a specific role. It's just the way that the code was designed. To allow admins (or some designated other person) to view the data, we'd have to implement some other role which is involved in all appraisals automatically (or can be assigned, perhaps), which can see the answers from all users by default, and which doesn't participate themselves at all. This isn't impossible, but would require a significant amount of work to develop and test. Our own team already identified this as a desired feature (tracked under ID T-10971), but I'm not sure how high it has been prioritised.

The Appraisal Detail report sources should allow you to create a report which includes manager's and staff member's answers to each question. That report can then be limited to a specific role (Company Appraisal Reviewer?) in the system context so that only that individual can access it. It's not a great solution, and I suspect there will be limitations (no attachments or formatting of answers for one), but that might be an appropriate workaround.

Hi everyone.

Thanks Dan for that suggestion. Just be aware that not all question types in the appraisal are shown as columns in the report. You should see answers for all question types that are listed under the "Question" header in the "add question" selector, but you won't see any of the answers from questions listed under "Review Question" or "Non-question elements".
