Text Alerts for emergencies

Hi Folks,

Out here in Oklahoma we have severe weather at times and most places have the ability to send out emergency texts to participants of there is a cancelation of events.

How would something like this be handled in Totara. if a coordinator is told to cancel an event and we do not want people traveling is there way to force out a notification in someway.

Text would be best but even a forced immediate email to their personal email regardless of their email settings would be awesome. I just don't want someone dying in a tornado.

Any Ideas?

Hi Nate,

You can message users in a Seminar, and send out cancellation notices.  We do have a feature request for SMS messages to be sent from Totara, but at present maybe using the 'Send a message' functionality in Bulk user actions would be useful?

I think though in the event of a major incident an LMS isnt the best channel to deliver a safety bulletin :)

cheers,

George.

cheers,

George.

Thank you so much for keeping this in mind!  I'm passing it on to my team right now.
