Hi Sonia

I tried viewing a wmv in Totara using Firefox 8 and Internet Explorer 8 and Windows media player opened and played the movie Ok.

What combination of media player, browser version operating system are you using? Is Windows media player opening for you?

There is a setting Force download in the resource setting that can be enabled that might help.

This setting ensures that the resource is not embedded in a browser window, but downloaded like any non-embeddable file. This is useful when one wants to avoid the pitfalls of cross-browser incompatibility and wrong multimedia plugin versions. It is the most accessible solution for file resources.

Hi Sonia

Once you have added the resource and linked to the wmv file you can select the update icon for the resource.

The force download option appears under the Window heading.
