I can not find settings within my install to change this but every course I setup has a forum automatically added to it as an activity. Is there a setting somewhere so that forums are not automatically added to courses?

Hi Chris

The news forum is automatically created when  the weekly format is used for the course. If you select the topic format when creating a course the the news forum won't be created.

To change the default format when a course is created select Site Administration > Courses > Course default settings and change the default course format from weekly.

When is the upgrade to 2.0 expected. I am setting up a new site and needing cohorts mapped to courses not just programmes Thanks
