Hi Hannah,

a new attempt won't be generated unless the "current" attempt has a completion status of "passed" or "complete" - if your SCORM package isn't setting those values we did have a "forcecompleted" setting as well but I can't remember if that's been ported to Totara.

Grupo Totara

Hi Dan

There is only a force new attempt option available for SCORM in Totara

Would this have the same effect  as forcecompleted or would this be no good as  you wouldn't have the option to continue on an existing attempt (might not be a problem if it is a short SCORM)

Thanks Craig - forcecompleted is a separate setting available in Moodle 2 that forces a users "attempt" in Moodle to be complete - it can interfere with the usual behavior of a SCORM package so should be used very carefully - (but in this case it isn't in Totara so can't be used anyway.)

You may need to modify your SCORM package to always return a "Completed" or "passed" status.

an incomplete status means that the attempt hasn't "finished" - so the next time a user enters the SCORM they will be within the same "previous" attempt. - This is just how SCORM works.

If you want each "entry" to a SCORM package to be a "new" attempt - your SCORM must always set the completion status to "complete" or "passed"
