There is a report source course completions that should provide the info required for the report - include category, enrolment date and business unit.

Export this into a spreadsheet and then include enrolment date in a pivot table column and group0 by month.

Drag the other fields such as category , course business unit into the row section and add a count in the data area.

I have attached a file to show what I mean.
