Re: Assiging bulk existing users to courses greater than 300

Hi Linda,

I think the best solution would be to create a program, put the course within the program and assign the users to the program using a cohort. These kind of bulk user operations are far simpler in 2.2. Hope this is useful.

regards,

George.

Hi Linda

There are some instructions on  the file format and fields that you can use at http://help.totaralms.com/totara_v1.1_help/site_admin/add_user.htm#Bulk_Upload_of_Users

In your case you would include the field course1 and include the shortname of the course you want to enrol in. You can also include the role1 - this is the number of the role for course1

You can include more than one course in the same row by adding a column called course2

You can also include other profile fields as described in the help link above

Go to Site Admin > Users > Accounts > Upload users - this will show a preview of the records being added.

Select the Settings for Upload type - (probably Update existing users only) - select override with file if you want to change any of the existing profile fields with the values in the uploaded file.

Its best to do with one record in the CSV file to see the values change as expected and then do the rest.

Craig
