Hi Jo

This has been an on-going issue for us - our catalogue is 2,200 courses and almost all of them link to intranet pages, knowledge base pages, and other course pages.

We haven't been able to find a way to track the URL's in SCROM moduels are still valid.

For course pages, our vendor wrote us a little script that makes a copy of the site and over night follows all the links and in the morning we get a report of all the 404 errors (page not found).  This is far from perfect as often an external page will stop being relevant but still live.

My advice therefore, is to limit your exposure to links breaking (or content chaning) in your course design.  Place the linked resource files on the course page and make your external links to the main site with instructions on what to search for.

Cheers

Hi Jo

Thanks for the link - I hadn't seen that approach before.  Currently, we wade through the files in the SCORM mod folder and change the URL's in there - which is a bit hopeless when the vendor supplies an updated version of the SCORM and we have to figure what we changed and then reflect those changes in the new module.

Cheers
