We'll have a look if we can reproduce it.
Meantime a bit more details on this error would be great. Do you think you can turn on debugging on your Totara site, then try adding a new evidence type, and copy the exact error message?
Debugging is under "Home > Site administration > Development > Debugging". You will need to set debug messages to DEVELOPER level.
