Well you found a bug, it looks like the patch I was talking about that fixed this was ported from another version and the code that fixed the formatting went missing. It has been re-added and included in todays (29th July 2014) release of Totara 2.6.6. Hopefully you don't mind another upgrade, it should work for you this time.
