I'm wondering what the function of Course ID is and if it is necessary to add course ID for each course.

Hi Qingrou

The Course ID number is not required it is not displayed anywhere - it is used for matching to course from an external system.

There is a separate id number automatically created for each course to uniquely identify it within Totara.
