This week, we’ve got a new poll, an updated course and webinar on demand about open badges and the news that the Totara Community is now an award winner.
Firstly, some exciting news to share with you all. The Totara Community has won this year’s CEdMA award for innovation. Danielle Campbell, CEdMA Board President, said: “This past year has forced Learning Leaders to really think about how to meet our learners where they are; lack of time, focus and ability to meet face to face often means we need something fundamentally different. This has accelerated the creation and adoption of new ways to better engage our customers, partners, and employees with easy to consume content and meaningful learning experiences. We are delighted to recognize Totara’s transformation of the learning experience through the merging of communities and education all delivered through a modern learning experience as our 2021 CEdMA Innovation Award winner.”
Read more about the award here and thank you to everyone for making the Totara Community a great place to learn and collaborate. If you’ve got a colleague who hasn’t already joined the Community, encourage them to sign up to our award-winning site!
Weekly Poll
Last week we asked how you’re planning to work once restrictions are lifted. Perhaps unsurprisingly, there is a huge shift in how you want to work in future, with only 5% of you planning to return to an office full time. The full results were:
- 14% of you will be working fully remote
- 45% will be working flexibly
- 36% will be splitting your time evenly between home and the office
- 5% will be going back to full time in the office
If you’ve got some thoughts on how your organisation will work in the future, or you’d like to learn from other organisations as we enter the ‘new world of work’, why not join our supporting remote working space.
With the way we’re working changing for so many of us, the way teams are managed is likely changing too. This week we’re asking you ‘How often do you have performance check-ins with your manager/team members?’ Perhaps that has increased since the pandemic started? Take the poll.
If you’re reflecting more on remote working, have a look at our courses on performance management to see how Totara can help you support your teams effectively. You can also join the collaborative space on performance management here.
If you’d like to talk more to organisations facing the same learning challenges as you then you can join one of our new collaborative spaces where you can ask questions and share your thoughts with your peers.
Updated Academy course available
As adult learners have a varied set of professional demands placed on them every day, remaining motivated to learn, achieve, and complete courses can be a challenge for many learners. It can also be a problem for Course Creators to design engaging courses and find ways to ensure learners stay on task. One way to motivate learners and recognise them for their achievements is through the use of open badges.
Enrol in our updated course on open badges to explore and practise how to:
- Add new site and course badges to Totara
- Manage the awarding criteria for open badges
- Link your Totara site to an external backpack
Yesterday Meredith Henson ran a webinar all about open badges and what’s available in Totara 13 too. You can watch that on-demand now.
