Firstly, apologies if this is a duplicate. I did look, honest :)

re: Can we trigger a seminar notification 15 minutes before the event?

So, if this has not been requested, can we please have the ability to add a Notification in the iCal that is sent some time before the event actually starts?

options: if possible, the time before should be configurable, with a "default" of "15 minutes" (900 seconds), but with perhaps several other options available (e.g. 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins, 30 mins)

bonus points: not sure if the RFC allows this (not read it thoroughly yet) - another earlier reminder?

My client-partner that has requested this is currently on T14, but likely to move to 17 later this year.

Hi Harry

This has been requested by another partner and unfortunately the priority was not high enough to develop.

The ical does support VALARM so could have some parameters included in  /mod/facetoface/classes/messaging.php as below  which could possibly be developed by a partner including an interface around the parameters.

BEGIN:VALARM",
                "TRIGGER:-PT15M",
                "REPEAT:4",
                "DURATION:PT5M",
                "ACTION:DISPLAY",
                "DESCRIPTION:Reminder",
                "END:VALARM",
                "END:VEVENT",
Centralised notifications for seminars  have been added in Totara 17 but the unit is in days rather than minutes

No bonus points for me!

regards

Hi Craig,

indeed, no bonus points :)

Would it be useful for your devs to consider a finer granularity than "days" for reminders?
