We are working on building out some courses that rely on a few components -- including an LTI-based activity -- in Totara 16. We are running into some issues where our users are finding the progress bar confusing for the context of our use case. Is there a way to just turn the progress bar off? We do have some pieces of the course (2 out of 3) that factor into the course being considered "completed", but we don't want this displaying on the dashboard as "progress". Appreciate any help!

The progress is recorded in a few different places - in reports , blocks and in the activity.
For reports such as Record of learning if you are logged in as an admin and select Edit this report and delete the column Progress
For the current Learning block there isn't a way in the interface to configure the block to exclude progress.
I assume you still want to record progress so turning off completion tracking for the course isn't suitable
