Feedback to learner submissions

Hi,

I am new to Totara but have used moodle quite a bit in the past. Prior to switch over, we had a set-up where a learner submitted an assignment and the tutor could mark that work and provide a grade. They could also attach a feedback sheet for the learner to receive more in-depth feedback. The learner, tutor and internal verifier (IQA) could also see this feedback sheet.

The problem I have now is that we haven't changed any settings for these assignments but the tutor can no longer see the feedback sheets and, more importantly, nor can the IV. The latter point is making verification a challenge and we are reaching for email copies to ensure nothing gets missed.

Any ideas whether I need to check a box with the assignments, the grade profile or the tutor/IV role permissions?

Hi Kevin

I tried attaching a pdf file as a feedback file in an assignment with the standard trainer role and was able to view this Ok.

There aren't many permissions around assignments so may not be a permissions problem, can you confirm the trainer role has the Grade assignment allowed

What type of file is the feedback - does the file of the same type open for the trainer outside of the assignment ?

If this doesn't help are you or your partner able to submit a ticket detailing the Totara version and settings in the Assignment

I think we have solved half the problem! Feedback files from the trainers (assessors) are written in Word, but we couldn't see them because the left-hand blocks on the screen meant that the table in the centre of the screen was cut short. As soon as we docked the blocks, the full table was in view, including the column marked Feedback files.

However, this is only the case for our Level 3 courses! Our level 5 courses are not showing the attached feedback files, even though the settings for the assignments are exactly the same. I suspect our two assessors are using different processes, so have a meeting later this week to go through how the level 3 assessor grades and how the level 5 assessor grades. Maybe that will reveal differences!
