Hi, Alan

I'm experiencing a similar issue on 2.5.3. Although, I've changed the mdl_events_handlers table schedule field to use cron instead of instant for the time being as I was experiencing timeout issues and I'm not getting emails either.

You can check out my post and see if anything comes back that might help you. I'll keep an eye on yours. :)

Hi folks, I'll try to replicate these messaging issues and look at the code to see if there's a logic error, but it would be useful if you could have someone look at the email server logs, and the mdl_message table.

Either the code is never sending the messages at all (obviously a bug); or the messages are being created but are not being delivered, possibly because of spam filters.

Hi Alan. This is interesting that you post this, because we have been working on notifications for manual and self enrollments. I do not believe Totara sends email on self and manual enrollments. I could be wrong but based upon our initial evaluation that is not the case. We are working on a local customization which will subscribe to an enroll event, and email the user and manager.

I was not previously aware that audience members received email notification upon an audience enrollment. I am glad that it did (that it is supposed to) as that solves one issue for us. Do you know if an audience enrollment event also emailed the user's manager when it previously worked?

Hi folks,

It seems sensible to me to have the option for Learners to be emailed when they are manually enrolled in a course, Ill submit an ehancement bug.

+1 for configurable option to notify users on new enrollments. The key here will be to make it configurable, in my opinion.
